This sight will put a smile on your face

(Although be warned, the second part of the post may make you cringe.)
But first thing first:
New blooms

New blooms

Did I hear a collective sigh of relief? “Haaaii…” Spring is almost here. Woo hoo! Thank goodness these early signs have been sent to keep our spirit up, because the truth is that it’s still freezing most of the time. (And yet I have NOT managed to go skiing. Pah!)

On an unrelated note, the other day went to visit T1 and after a bit, our conversation turned to talks about money. How to get lots of it, to be precise. After dismissing several success-proven quick cash plans — like robbing a bank, or finding a sugar daddy, or sitting outside and waiting for a big chunk of $$$ to fall on our heads — she said, “If you like to write so much, why don’t you write articles and stuff for magazines?”

I said, “Well thanks for the compliment but I don’t think I’m up to scratch. But you know how some people make heaps and heaps of money from those ads on their blogs? Maybe one day (read: some time in the 22nd century) my blog will become popular and…”

Then she said, “Hmm… But wouldn’t you need some kind of a shock-tactic to draw readers in? Some outrageous controversy. Like a SEX SCANDAL!”

Sex scandal, indeed. 🙂

Cairns and The Reef photos are up.

On My Face. I mean, Facebook. On my face there’s only wrinkles. *sigh*

Anyhoo, here’s the link. You don’t need to be my “friend” to see it but I think you’ll need a Facebook account. And if you haven’t got one? HEY! STOP SLEEPING UNDER THAT ROCK AND WAKE UP TO THE 21st CENTURY! *poke* 🙂

There are photos of my other trips too. I promise to get my ass in gear and put more travel photos up there soon.

Spring?! *gasp* Nooo!

Yesterday I saw a cherry tree full of powdery pink blossoms! And I was like, Nooooo, that can’t be true. But it was. And it is. Spring is near, baby! Despite the fact that we just had The Coldest Day Ever Recorded — well since last winter at least — when everything, ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING, seemed to quiver and shrink and go all purple. (And a certain girl had to rush out and buy new bras. Ha ha. Just kidding. They don’t come in any smaller sizes!)

Anyway, anatomical discussions aside. Only more than a month to go now, till it’s officially Le Printemp. Yippy Yippy Yay!

Over here, it's still winter.

Over here, it's still winter...

But over HERE, a metre away, it's a new season.

But over HERE, a mere metre away, a new season's on its way.

It's a real perk, being next to a florist's. When I'm down, I'd dash right over and the colours would lift my mood right up there with those (grey) clouds.

with the birds i share this lonely view

So as you can see, I’ve decided to post a photo or two up here every now and then. (I just typed “hear” instead of “here”. This never happened before! Oh, the horror!) You know, to spice it up a bit. Continue reading
